Weekly Bucerias Markets
Wednesday Bucerias Farmer’s Market
The Bucerias Farmer’s Market is back! New name, new location, same great vendors. Live music, crafts, food, clothing, hand-made jewelry, fresh produce, and more.
After ten years, Alison handed over control to the Colonos de Bucerias to breathe new life into it. The intention was to keep everyone’s favorite vendors, invite some new ones, and “re-invent” the farmer’s market that everyone has supported and loved for so many years.
The Bucerias Farmer’s Market is every Wednesday from 9 am to 1 pm during high season, starting November 3rd.
Sunday La Cruz Market at the Marina
The Sunday Mercado is located at the La Cruz Marina with more than 200 vendors. Listen to live music and enjoy the beautiful view of the La Cruz Marina and the bay whilst shopping. It opens from 9 am to 2 pm.
The local fish market is also located in this area, so it is a good opportunity to buy some fresh local seafood like tuna, marlin, mahi-mahi, or shrimp.
Tuesday Nuevo Vallarta Farmer’s Market
Every Tuesday from 9 am to 2 pm, visit the Nuevo Vallarta farmer’s market for a wide variety of organic food, bakery, Mexican sweets, handcrafted products, jewelry, and gourmet delicacies. There is also a ton of fresh fruit, vegetables, and seafood.
The market has a great ambiance and live music. It is hosted in an open-air environment in the parking lot behind the Hospital Joya Riviera Nayarit.
Sunday Bucerias Tianguis
Sunday mornings are the general Bucerias market along the Arroyo del Indio in Bucerias. It is very large and you can find a little bit of everything. It is not very touristy since it is mostly for the locals, but there are some great finds to be had.
We always grab a large cup of coconut water and some freshly peeled Yaca or Jack fruit. It is up the dry river bed so if it’s raining it gets smaller to only the side streets.
They have everything from key makers and electronic cords for phones to fresh fruits and veggies. There are also many stands selling affordable clothing, tools, and cleaning supplies.
Saturday Tianguis Artesanal Nuevo Vallarta, Quiosco
EVENT CANCELED
The Tianguis Artesanal in Nuevo Vallarta is a crafts market on Saturdays from 9 am – 2 pm during high season. The market has a strict policy to only allow vendors who produce what they sell. You can find everything from Huichol Art and handmade cigars to glass-blown pieces and handmade wood furniture. It is located behind the OXXO that is across from Mayan Palace´s Sea Garden, before Villa Varadero.

Now they offer most of the items they use in the restaurant as well as other treasures from all over Mexico. They also have a beautiful garden patio to enjoy a delicious meal.
Bucerias Shopping Tips
Check out our shopping tips below:
- Take cash and small change: The use of small bills and loose change in Mexico is much more prevalent than in many other countries, this being especially true if you decide to visit one of its traditional markets. Basically, make sure you’ve broken your $500 note before you try and purchase anything, or if you do want to spend one, use it only on large purchases of around $250 and above. If not, you’ll either get flat-out rejected or be on the receiving end of some pretty exasperated stares as the vendor rummages for change.
- ‘No Gracias’: There are lots of vendors on the beach. They’ll try to sell you anything from silver jewelry to sundresses, T-shirts, and sunglasses. They may even offer you a sombrero or a cowboy hat. If you start to get tired of it all, politely say “No Gracias” and they will usually continue on to the next people.
- Ask before you take photos: Markets are often beautiful, messy, and imperfect, which makes them perfect for photography. Just to be sure, ask permission before you take any photos, especially if you want to include the vendor in your picture.
